  • The Field Museum – If Raptors and Tyrannosaurus Rex fascinate you, you can get “up close and personal” with their remains here. Or, appreciate the intricate handwork of the Native American regalia on display.
  • Jane Adams Hull-House Museum – The redbrick Victorian Hull House was the birthplace of social work. Social welfare pioneers Jane Adams and Ellen Gates Starr started the American settlement house movement in this house in 1889. Pictures and letters add context to the museum’s two buildings, which recreates the homey setting the new immigrants enjoyed.
  • John G. Shedd Aquarium – Enjoy one of the most popular indoor aquariums in the country, housing more than 8,000 aquatic animals in realistic waterscapes. The 90,000-gallon Caribbean Reef exhibit in the main building features divers feeding sharks, stingrays, a sea turtle, and other denizens of the deep.
